An overview of my references
A small selection
Autodesk Fusion 360 for Linux
Fusion 360 is a cloud-based 3D modeling, CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB software platform that offers an affordable, powerful alternative to other well-known solutions on the market. It is easy to use and has all the common features one would expect from popular CAD packages. Furthermore, it was built from the ground up to be a comprehensive product development solution.
Archicad for Linux
Archicad is a model-based CAD program for architects that works according to the building data modeling method and saves project information such as floor plans, sections, elevations, evaluations and room books in one file. In the event of changes to the model, all relevant data such as the number of components and the calculated costs are automatically adjusted.
Keyshot for Linux
KeyShot offers its users real-time 3D rendering that shows results instantly and reduces the time to create realistic product visualizations. It also offers native support for over 30 leading 3D file formats. Free plugins allow for one-click loading, while LiveLinking keeps your design in sync across applications.
Moment of Inspiration for Linux
Moment of Inspiration (MoI) is a 3D modeling program that supports precise freeform NURBS drawing tools. MoI is the perfect choice for anyone frustrated by the complexity of other CAD tools. It combines a clean user interface with powerful tools. A special feature of MoI is that it can be used very well with a drawing tablet without a keyboard.
Rhinoceros 3D for Linux
Rhinoceros 3D is one of the most popular 3D modeling software for manufacturing companies, also known as Rhino 3D. The software is based on the so-called NURBS geometry (Non-Uniform Rational Basis Splines), which is particularly suitable for use in architecture, prototyping, engineering, jewelry and industrial design, graphic, ship and automotive industries.
SolidWorks for Linux
In industry and product design, SOLIDWORKS is a CAD solution that many rely on. It is based on parametric modeling and is mainly used to create 3D models and assemblies. It has also found its way into the world of additive manufacturing as it allows engineers to save their designs in STL format, the format required for 3D printing software to process a 3D model.
Solid Edge for Linux
Solid Edge from Siemens Digital Industries Software is CAD software for 2D and 3D designs and offers all the functions for your design tasks in draft, part and assembly. Widely used, especially in mechanical and plant engineering, Solid Edge impresses in particular with its intuitive operation, flexibility in modeling and its outstanding sheet metal module.
VCDS for Linux
VCDS (VAG-COM Diagnose-System), also known as VAG-COM, is a Windows-based diagnostic system that can be used to diagnose and adjust Volkswagen AG vehicles (including Audi, Seat and Škoda). At the same time, the software can also be used for vehicles from cooperation partners of the brands mentioned, for example for the Bentley Continental GT and the Spyker C8, the Multicar TREMO and the KTM X-Bow.
